Community Empowerment Project

The second stage of a successful project bringing together local government officials, school staff and communities to improve education for children at 28 schools.

Summary

  • Project: CEEP II
  • Area: Kiryandongo and Nwoya Districts, Uganda
  • Beneficiaries: Children at 28 schools and their parents and teachers 
  • Duration: 2 years

Aim

To improve primary education across all schools, with a powerful positive impact on the quality for children and their families in each community.

Outcomes

  • Increased participation and commitment of parents and community leaders within education
  • Improved policy and practice around primary education 
Increased collaboration between teachers, students and education officials will lead to improvements at school including better teacher attendance and higher inspection rates by local authorities - ultimately contributing towards a higher quality of education and support for children.
