Mr Paul Mugo Maina - Advisory Board Chair
Paul Mugo Maina holds an MSc and a BSc in Agricultural Management from CalPoly State University at San Luis Obispo, California, USA. He currently works as an agriculture and development consultant and has previously worked as a Civil Servant, and as Managing Director of Farming Systems Kenya (FSK).He has extensive experience in leadership, fundraising and managing projects funded by governments, bi-lateral donors such as DfID and USAID, and local and international NGOs. Over the years he has helped with the establishment of schools, NGOs and SMEs and has participated in several humanitarian initiatives targeting diverse community needs.
Mr Mbage Njuguna Ng’ang’a
Mr Mbage Njuguna Ng’ang’a is a lawyer by profession. He practices corporate and property law in Nairobi. He holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Law (LLM) degree in International Business Law from the University of London and a Master of Science (Msc) degree in Agricultural Development also from the University of London. He is Chairman of The Energy Tribunal, Kenya. Mr. Ng’ang’a is also a Law Reform Commissioner in the Kenya Law Reform Commission.
Mr David Mwangi Njuru
Mr David Mwangi Njuru holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Nairobi. He works with an international organization in Kenya with responsibility within the region. He has extensive experience having worked in the past with GIZ for over 10 years, and the Government of Kenya for over 8 years. He has a special interest in community organisations within the context of rural development and capacity building.
Mrs Sandra Aluoch-Simbiri
Mrs Sandra Aluoch-Simbiri has extensive experience in ICT for education and development organisations, working in different parts of Sub-Saharan Africa. She was the founding Project Director of the African Bandwidth Consortium. She worked closely with local governments, ministries of education, the private sector and research and educational institutions in setting up and managing the online and satellite infrastructure for eLearning in over 34 universities in Africa. Sandra has also worked as the ICT Manager at The African Virtual University, a World Bank funded distance learning initiative, offering online courses to Universities across Africa. She has implemented programs for multilateral agencies and donors including the African Development Bank, World Health Organisation, UNESCO, UNDP, Carnegie Corporation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Mrs Kentice Tikolo
Mrs Kentice Tikolo has 13 years' experience in increasingly senior PR & communications positions; most recently as Head of Corporate Communications for the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), and previously with the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) and the Kenya Sugar Authority (KSA). In her NGO experience, she worked for CARE International in Kenya. She also worked for the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), previously as a researcher, and later as Special Assistant to the Director General. She was recently appointed by UNICEF as the Deputy Director for the International Conference for AIDS & STIs in Africa (ICASA 2011), which will take place in Addis Ababa in December.
Mr Caleb Kiprono Metto
Mr Caleb Kiprono Metto serves as the Executive Director of the Youth Agency for the Development of Science, Technology and Innovation (YADSTI), and Chairman of the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation Scholarship Beneficiaries Association (JKFSBA). He holds the belief that education is the light of a nation and the only key to unlocking the potential of human capital and alleviating poverty. He has great passion for youth empowerment especially through science and technology. He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Nairobi.
Dr Maria Mullei
Dr Maria Mullei is an expert in the field of international economic development, particularly in the use of public-private partnerships to improve economic conditions. She is a former agriculture and development adviser with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). She has served on a number of secondary school boards in Kenya, worked as a consultant for the Kenyan government in developing and strengthening District Development Teams for the implementation of the decentralization process. She holds a Ph.D. in Education and a Master of Arts in Education, both from the University of Rochester, New York and a B.S. in Education from the College Misericordia, Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Ms Deborah Mburu
Ms Deborah Mburu is currently the Strategic Planning Director at D-Vine Ideas Ltd, a business consulting firm and also lectures part-time at Makini College in several courses in Marketing & Management such as Managing Marketing, Stakeholder Marketing and Managing Corporate Reputation. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Upper Second Class Honors) from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya. She also holds a Post-graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK (2006). She was the best student in Kenya in the December 2006 sitting of the Analysis & Evaluation Paper of the Post Graduate Diploma.
Dr. John K Muteti
Dr. John K Muteti is an experienced multi-disciplinary professional with international exposure. He holds a Doctorate in Business Management from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa and an MA in Economic & Social Studies from the University of Manchester, UK. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning, Appraisal and Financing from University of Bradford, UK. Currently, Dr. Muteti is the HOD Development Studies at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Kenya and a Board Member of the Betting Control and Licensing Board. Dr. Muteti has previously worked with the Poverty Eradication Commission, Kenya as a Senior Economist among other organizations.
Dr. Rosa Muraguri-Mwololo
Dr. Rosa Muraguri-Mwololo is the director of Executive Education Group Ltd and a renowned international development consultant with more than 25 years’ experience in various facets of social development. She holds a PhD in Education for Industry and a Masters degree in Entrepreneurship Education, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, and a Bachelors degree in Sociology from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Rosa has consulted for numerous governments. non-governmental organizations, UN agencies, The World Bank, universities and done pro bono work for many local women's groups in the area of entrepreneurship.
Mr Samson Maina Kamau
Mr Samson Maina Kamau is currently the Executive Director in charge of Business Development at CORAT Africa. CORAT Africa deals in Advisory, Research and Capacity Development for churches, church related organizations and NGOs in Africa. His main roles are marketing, fundraising and strategic planning. He holds an MBA and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management with over 15 years experience. He has also taken short courses in Negotiation pedagogy from Harvard University in USA and IRR of South Africa. He is a member of the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK). He has wide commercial and NGO experience within the African region. He is married with three children.
Mr Tito Maviti
Mr Tito Maviti is a revenue growth and cost savings-oriented corporate manager and finance expert. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business Administration from the United States International University (USIU), Nairobi. He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPAK). He has more than 20 years' experience in managing and directing large corporations in the areas of finance, operations, administration and general corporate management. Tito has worked with the Kenya Tea Development Agency, Regiments Capital (EA) limited and African Projects Coordination Agency.
