Village Savings and Loans Associations
- 1,495 VSLA groups started in Kenya and Uganda
- 41,249 members have been involved with the VSLA project
- £899,902 saved and earnt by members
- 70.2% of savers are women
Buliisa Orphans Project
- The Buliisa Orphans Project has supported 2,914 school pupils in five schools;
- It has helped 100 households who care for orphans (700 family members in total) and 120 out-of-school members in six community support groups;
- 300 households have received the nutritional benefits of cassava cuttings and bean seeds;
- 38 Village Savings and Loans groups, comprising 1111 members, have been set up in the area to give carers the income resources needed to take care of the orphans in their charge. The total amount saved is 108,105,100 Ugandan Shillings (£30,887).
