Build Africa in the Big Apple
3 November 2011
James Gambrill, our Director of Fundraising and Communications is currently in New York meeting with current and potential funders to discuss the feasibility of setting up an office in the U.S. in order to facilitate our fundraising over there, allowing us to increase the number of communities we can work with in Kenya and Uganda.
Firmdale Hotels, who are supporting Kawo Kakira School kindly held a drinks reception at their New York Crosby Street Hotel for people to hear more about Build Africa and find out about ways in which they can support our work.
Setting up a presence in the U.S. would be a massive step for us and we’re all very excited about the possibility of it happening. If you would like to receive updates about this, or indeed if you are based in the U.S. and would like to support us please don’t hesitate to send an email to james@build-africa.org.uk outlining your interest.
James will also be running the New York Marathon on Sunday and has raised nearly £3000 in sponsorship for the charity. If you know him and would like to send a good luck message, you can do so here
