‘Beds and Handlebars’ go the distance

30 April 2012

Fifteen intrepid cyclists covered 220km in three days and raised over £11,000 for Build Africa! On April 17 – 19,  a team of riders from Build Africa’s generous corporate partner Beds and Bars – a  chain of backpacker hostels, bars and nightclubs across the UK and Europe – rode from their Bauhaus Hostel and Hotel in Bruges to their Flying Pig Downtown Hostel in Amsterdam to raise vital funds for Minyalala Primary School in Kenya.  The aptly named ‘Beds and Handlebars’ team was comprised of staff from across the company, plus a two-person support team!

To celebrate the many months of training and fundraising (and their long three days on two wheels!), the team arrived to a well-earned finish party at the Flying Pig on the evening of 19 April,  complete with food, drink and live music.

On behalf of everyone here at Build Africa and Minyalala Primary School, thank you to the Beds and Handlebars team for your amazing efforts!
