House of Commons 2009

8 June 2009

On the 3rd of June, Build Africa's Chief Executive Susanne Niedrum, along with the UK team, had the opportunity to say thank you to a cross-section of supporters and major donors at an event held in the House of Commons.  The event was generously hosted by Build Africa Ambassador Greg Clark, MP, the Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change.

Speakers included Greg Clark, MP, Her Excellency Mrs. Joan Rwabyomere, Uganda High Commissioner, Tom Lindsay, Build Africa Ambassador and supporter, Rose Nanfuka, Build Africa Trustee, and George Kidenda, Build Africa Country Director for Kenya, who provided a field update via video presentation.

Major donors, supporters, honoured guests, as well as Build Africa Ambassadors and staff had the opportunity to speak to one another about their experiences with the organisation as well as to chat about ways in which we can all do more to support young people in the rural districts of Uganda and Kenya.  It was an enjoyable night for all, and we are already looking forward to next year's event.  Thank you again to all of those who attended, and our many thanks to all of our donors for their continued support and generosity.
